Continue to Blaze 2 - [link]

Development for Blaze the Cat began in April 1990, after Sega ordered its AM-8 team to develop a game featuring a mascot for the company. After choosing a Cat as the main character, the 5-person group changed its name to Blaze Team and started working on Blaze the cat. The main minds behind the game were character designer Oaoto Nhshima, game programmer Nuji Yaka and designer Yirokazu Hasuhara.

Ever since Blaze has been introduced to the series, I've always wondered why SEGA hasn't made her own individual game for her yet. All this does for me is make me wish even harder that this was real. That'd just be the greatest thing ever. :"D

Well I didn't think that Shadow's game was THAT bad. A bit too dark for something related to the Sonic series, yes, but SEGA has had far worse games than that. *coughSonic06cough*

well if you compare andything to sonic 06 it looks good, but just because 06 makes it look good in comparison, dosen't make it good in actuality XD

Well I'm just basically trying to point out that Shadow the Hedgehog was not the only awful game that SEGA ever worked on. People give it such a bad rep as if it was the reason the whole series started to go downhill which is quite a bit of an exaggeration. I'm not trying to defend it or anything, I'm just saying they've had worse ones before that.

In fact even though I personally enjoyed Sonic Heroes, I will agree with the fans who say that the quality of the Sonic games seemed to be put to a hault after that one was released. It was kind of like a dominoe effect in a sense, just one little mistake seemed to make the whole franchise collapse in on itself (the only genuinely good new Sonic game I've seen recently is Sonic Generations, imo.)
